I’m about a few months too late, but I can’t say I’m happy hearing the news about a remake of the 1964 musical My Fair Lady, being in the works. And that Keira Knightley is being considered to portray Eliza Doolittle.

I was less thrilled when I found out that George Clooney and Brad Pitt are fighting over the role of Henry Higgins - and Brad Pitt wants Angelina Jolie to play Eliza Doolittle.
It just doesn’t hold any appeal. Perhaps I’m being too quick to judge, but I can’t see Keira Knightley or Angelina Jolie surpassing Audrey Hepburn’s performance. I can’t even think of anyone who would be suitable to play Professor Henry Higgins. I sure as hell wouldn’t choose Clooney or Pitt. The film just seems too iconic and already perfect the way it is, that a remake would just probably ruin the story.
…Of course, that’s just my opinion.
Oh, look. This is my last post for the month of October. :)
Perhaps you’d like some information on linear motion.

If I had to choose between Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightley for Eliza Dolittle, I think I’d go with Keira Knightley, if only because I think her features are more uh, whatever period My Fair Lady is set in than Angelina Jolie.

I know this is almost a month ago, but I just saw an article online somewhere about this and then saw on your sidebar the entry title. I hope they do not do it. Classic like “My Fair Lady” aren’t meant to be re-made. It would be like someone trying to remake “Gone With The Wind” or “Casablanca” :S Not a good idea.
If they do it, though, I think I would prefer Knightley over Jolie. And Brad and George for Henry? Ew. No. They need to find someone else.
