Jenny and LexieOur Chinese-Australian guests have left. We ended up having siblings Jenny and Jason stay at our house. They’re from Perth – the whole mission team was composed of students from Perth and Adelaide.

It was fun. Jason is currently completing his Computer Science Ph.D, so we had plenty to talk about. We went to Trinoma for a while, to get a snack and play a few video games on Timezone.

My brother and I also made them both sing karaoke with our Magic Sing, since they mentioned that they hadn’t experienced Filipino karaoke yet.

We didn’t get to spend much time with each other, apart from when they were staying at home. But we did try to make their stay as interesting as possible. They were able to try almost all the forms of public transportation, we made them sing karaoke, they had the traditional Filipino breakfast, we gave them model jeepneys, and they tried Krispy Kreme doughnuts (which they apparently don’t have in Perth). Well, I hope we succeeded in making their trip as memorable as possible.

They left three days ago, I’ve been able to talk to Jenny who is in Hong Kong at the moment. Up there is a photo of me and Jenny, which we took at one of the Japanese photo booths at Timezone (we didn’t understand anything, we just kept pressing buttons while smiling at the top camera) the day before their last day in the Philippines.

Ok now time to look at life insurance no medical.

Aww that sounds like so much fun! And that’s such a cute pic. :) I never know how what the heck I’m doing whenever I go to those photo booths too! The last one I took with my best friend, you can see how confused we were because it wasn’t until the last pic that we were actually looking at the camera!

It was pretty cool, getting to make her own donut at KK. I bet that’s memorable ΓΌ

OOH YOU LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE BLUE EYES ON THE PIC!!

    Haha, wala lang.

Well i’m sure that the two had fun if they had you guys as “adopted siblings” hehe.

Good thing you made them feel that they’re really in the Philippines. At least once in their life they experienced the life of an ordinary Fil citizen. Me loves KK!

That must have been phone. My cousin had a foreign exchange student from Bejing stay with them for a semester once. I think it would be a really interesting way to learn about other cultures. I’ve never really been more than 200 miles from the small rural town in Oklahoma that I grew up in.

I love taking pictures in that Adlib of Wind booth in Timezone :) And i’m very certain that you were able to make their stay a memorable one. What you guys did are some of the major highlights of the Filipino culture anyway. Yay! :)

  10. It sounds like you’re having a blast. Btw, I really love the way you use fonts on your blog. It is really clean and pleasant to the eyes.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun hosting those two siblings! I’m glad that you made them try krispy kreme donuts! They used to have them here in Canada but now they dont anymore :\

No Krispy Kreme store in Perth? Oh noes!

Exchange programs… My parents would never have been OK with that, even if I’d wanted our family to participate in such a thing, LOL. Sounds cool, though…
