Ferdinand

Yesterday, my friend Shirlyn told me about Ferdinand Center for the Creative. It’s a tutoring center for people in the Philippines who want to study art, but can’t afford to pay for the tuition and other expenses. I think it’s a great idea, since there are a lot of people out there who have potential, yet have limited or no resources at all.

I was able to talk to Les – the director of the center – this morning. I will be volunteering in the center when it opens its doors, working with the students who are interested in photography. I’m really looking forward to it. But Les still needs a lot of help.

If you want to help or donate, you can sign up for the mail list at the website, or contact Les on Twitter. I believe you can find his e-mail address on Twitter as well.

Anyone interested in industrial clamps?

  1. That’s very nice of them… I think it’s brilliant because talent doesn’t always come with money so by giving the less fortunate an opportunity to practice and learn, who knows? You might be training the next artistic genius.

  2. (I’m like a couple posts late, but this layout is amazing! <3)

That’s so great that there’s a place like that to help people further their creativity ^.^ I hope the Center prospers and maybe when I’m older I can contribute something as I’m penniless at the moment, but I’m glad it’ll have volunteers like you who probably have amazing skills! I’ve seen some of your photography, and that’s fantastic!

  3. Thank you, Lexie, for volunteering to help us. I’m really looking forward to working with you. I’ve also already got some ideas for integrating your teaching into my lesson plans.

Also, for anyone wanting to know my email address, it’s info-at-ferdinandcc-dot-org
