Updates and such.

The new adopted kitty is fine. He’s very energetic and he eats a lot. :) I think he’s one happy kitty. We still haven’t given him a name, though.

I’ve been busy the past few days working on my photography blog, Photocurious. It used to be a photolog, but I decided to convert it into a weblog since I already have a Flickr account. Anyway, if you’re interested in reading or guestblogging, just head on over there.

Anyone interested in sexy lingerie?

Poor kitty. :(

There seems to be a new addition to the family. No, it’s not a baby. It’s a kitten. He still doesn’t have a name since we haven’t yet determined his sex.

Kitty #3

How did we come across this sweet little thing?

The other day, I woke up to find my cat missing. Our helper told me that he had escaped a few few minutes before I woke up. He’s done this before, so I decided to let him go on whatever adventure cats go through when they escape from their homes and wait for him to come home. Sure enough, he returned after a few hours.

He wasn’t alone, though. He was carrying a kitten. This kitten. The first thing I noticed when my cat dropped the little creature into my hands was that he was missing one paw. It seems to be a birth defect, but I’m going to have the vet check it out just in case.

Kitty #4

He’s a friendly little thing. My cat seems to be overprotective of him, he never lets the kitten out of his sight. :D I sure as hell am keeping this little kitty. He’s going to need to have custom rubber stamps made of his new name. Haha. :D

Music is the poetry of the air

So. I feel like sharing the music I’ve been listening to lately. Maybe you’ll find something to add to your archive, or MP3 players, or something.

  • Loquat
I found this band while I was searching for music similar to Ivy’s music. Well they’re pretty similar, and I love Kylee Swenson’s voice.
  • Cansei de Ser Sexy
If you asked me to place them in a genre, I would spend probably a whole day trying to figure them out. They sound good, I like their lyrics, although some of my male friends say it’s too feminine for them. I have no idea what they mean by that.
  • Yael Naim
She has a great voice, although I can’t understand some of her lyrics, because some of them are in French, others are in Hebrew. One of her songs was used in a MacBook Air commercial (New Soul).
  • Jaymay
Indie folk. :D I love Jaymay. I fell in love with her music after I heard her scatting on one of her songs, ‘Hard to Say’. :D
  • Justin Nozuka
He can sing pretty well. His music is relaxing, so I usually listen to him before I go to bed. My current favorite Justin Nozuka song is ‘Down In a Cold Dirty Well’.

Developing session with dad

Last week, my dad finally taught me how to develop film. It was easier than I thought it would be. I was expecting a lot of complicated steps, but it was quite simple.

Here a couple of photos from my roll of film.

Mask

A mask hanging from the barbed wire fence around our vegetable garden. I think this is what my mom uses when she sprays pesticide on the vegetables.

Hydrophonics

Hydrophonics. My mom has been using this technique to grow a few vegetables. It seems to have worked so far.

You can view the whole set, if you’d like.

Anyone want to vacation in the Outer Banks?

Just for the heck of it.

A few months ago, my mom got started on her flower and vegetable garden. My mom has been rather successful. We’ve been able to grow corn, tomatoes, eggplant, lettuce, winged beans, mint, lagundi and an assortment of other vegetables and herbs. She’ll probably end up planting touch of class hosta soon.

This, in turn, has encouraged me to make a few changes to my diet. I really don’t need to lose any weight – if anything, I think I need to gain some. I currently weigh 95 lbs. and stand around 5’3″ tall (or short :D ). Blame it on my thyroid condition.

I’ve noticed, lately, that I tire easily. So I’m going to lay off the junk food and go on a cleansing diet for the next 7 days to flush out the toxins from my body. My brother bought me a bottle of apple cider vinegar this afternoon. I’m going to live on rice and vegetables for the next few days. It shouldn’t be too hard, since I’ll be eating veggies from my mom’s garden.

I’m a little apprehensive about the apple cider vinegar. I opened the bottle and it doesn’t smell very pleasant. But I suppose it’ll be fine when diluted in water.

Wish me luck! I’ve enlisted the help of my mother and a good friend to keep an eye on me, so I don’t yield to temptation. :D Also, looking back, I’m finally accomplishing something in this list, which I – to be honest – have totally forgotten about.

Goodbye, FM

Yesterday was a sorrowful day for the Philippine music industry. One of their valuable talents, Francis Magalona, lost his battle against leukemia yesterday, March 6 2009. He was 44.

I was a little doubtful when I first read the plurks and tweets announcing The Man From Manila’s passing. I only believed it when I switched on the TV and saw one of the local TV stations taking a minute to pray for the eternal repose of Francis M.’s soul.

You will be missed, Francis Magalona. May your soul rest in peace.

One of Francis M’s most symbolic songs:

P.S. For those going to the Eraserheads concert, have fun. :D Take care, ok? Don’t wear too much jewelry.

Exploring Fractals

As you can see, I have yet another new layout up. I’ve been exploring the world of fractal art. The piece of art on the new layout is something I came up with while I was exploring the controls of a fractal generating software. I’m currently reading tutorials, so I can practice more and actually create distinctive patterns.

Right now, the current design is a work in progress. I still think it looks incomplete and I’m trying to figure out what else to add. I don’t want to overdo it, though. So, it’s a work in progress, which may be left alone if I go back to my usual procrastinating ways. I might just go back to having fun with fractal art, haha. Hope you like it, though. :)

Anyway, I’m currently looking at websites of beach resorts in the area. A few friends and I are planning to go to the beach soon – as soon as school’s out for the summer, so we’re looking for accommodations.

Here’s hoping our planning goes well and we hit the road soon. :)
