Yesterday was a sorrowful day for the Philippine music industry. One of their valuable talents, Francis Magalona, lost his battle against leukemia yesterday, March 6 2009. He was 44.
I was a little doubtful when I first read the plurks and tweets announcing The Man From Manila’s passing. I only believed it when I switched on the TV and saw one of the local TV stations taking a minute to pray for the eternal repose of Francis M.’s soul.
You will be missed, Francis Magalona. May your soul rest in peace.
One of Francis M’s most symbolic songs:
P.S. For those going to the Eraserheads concert, have fun.
Take care, ok? Don’t wear too much jewelry.
I was with my group mates when I heard this news. It was our break and I was either reading a book or doing my requirement when one of my group mates told me about FM’s death. Apparently, there was a TV where we were staying yesterday.
Of course, FM will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace.
That’s really sad. If I’m not mistaken, he’s still very young.
Crap, he’s dead. I didn’t even know he has leukemia. I used to follow his blog. Pretty talented guy, even outside of music. Freeman will always be one of my favorite pinoy albums.
