A few months ago, my mom got started on her flower and vegetable garden. My mom has been rather successful. We’ve been able to grow corn, tomatoes, eggplant, lettuce, winged beans, mint, lagundi and an assortment of other vegetables and herbs. She’ll probably end up planting touch of class hosta soon.
This, in turn, has encouraged me to make a few changes to my diet. I really don’t need to lose any weight – if anything, I think I need to gain some. I currently weigh 95 lbs. and stand around 5’3″ tall (or short
). Blame it on my thyroid condition.
I’ve noticed, lately, that I tire easily. So I’m going to lay off the junk food and go on a cleansing diet for the next 7 days to flush out the toxins from my body. My brother bought me a bottle of apple cider vinegar this afternoon. I’m going to live on rice and vegetables for the next few days. It shouldn’t be too hard, since I’ll be eating veggies from my mom’s garden.
I’m a little apprehensive about the apple cider vinegar. I opened the bottle and it doesn’t smell very pleasant. But I suppose it’ll be fine when diluted in water.
Wish me luck! I’ve enlisted the help of my mother and a good friend to keep an eye on me, so I don’t yield to temptation.
Also, looking back, I’m finally accomplishing something in this list, which I – to be honest – have totally forgotten about.
Wow you’re really light! Good luck with your detox plan but don’t forget about your proteins! Beans and legumes should be able to make up for the meat if you choose to stay away from meat.
Good luck with your plan. My Mom grow mostly tomatoes, celery, chives, peppers and lettuce. It’s not much but I think it’s nice than you can use things from your own garden.
Wow, you’re really light. I’m currently 100lbs but I’m 5′. I’ve always been concerned with my weight. I’m pretty short so I can’t afford to gain the extra pounds because then I tend to look thick and stocky. I love my junk food though. I wish I could lay off it for a while.
I am leaning more on vegetables and fruits, too. More fish, and as much as possible, no pork. It’s cool that your mom can keep up with her own garden. We tried that before, but, we weren’t successful.
WOW! I want fresh veggies.
