On home maintenance

My mom loves shopping for housewares and home maintenance products. It’s something she tries to bond over with me, to no avail. To be honest, the only things that capture my interest when we shop are bathroom storage products. My brothers are messy people, and I like having things in order.

I like humidifiers too, since I’m asthmatic. And vacuum cleaners because of my cat allergies (I vacuum my room almost everyday because I have two cats). We seem to have an overload of housewares in storage.

I find it kind of weird. Which is why I’ll probably have to hire a maid service or something when I get my own place. I think I’ll end up being hopeless in this home maintenance thing.

Web hosting

I’ve been looking at web hosting plans for a while now, since I’ve been doing a lot of freelance projects which require their own domains and hosting.

I’m contemplating getting a VPS hosting account so I can host my clients in one server. However, it might make a huge dent on my budget for now, so I guess multiple domain hosting is the best choice for now.

However, I really want a VPS hosting account, since most of the sites I build are e-commerce sites and use up a lot of resources.

Should I get Team Fortress 2?

Team Fortress 2

I’ve been thinking of getting this game for a while now, but I’m still wondering if it’s worth buying. The graphics seem to be great, and it’s cheaper than best weight loss pills.

I’m sort of hoping that there’s a demo I can test somewhere, so I can see if the game suits me before I buy. My friends have it, but I’m not in the mood to come over and try out the game on their computers.

I guess I’m going to have to do a Youtube search.

Mika – The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Mika

I didn’t know that Mika released a new album just five months ago. I’m out of the loop. I checked it out recently, and ended up liking it. I haven’t listened to Mika in years. Sometimes, I think his music is too much for me. Too flamboyant. I would rather read colonix reviews.

I have yet to listen to the whole album, but I really liked one song. Blame It On The Girls is pretty good.

Dear John

Dear John

I went to see this film with a couple of friends earlier this week. I was hoping it would be at least good, since I actually liked the book.

I did not shed a single tear. I should have just spent the cash on my little brother’s vitamin for acne.

Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum were actually okay. What I didn’t like was how they drastically changed parts of the book. Even the ending was changed (and it seems as if it was done to appease the tween viewers, who are addicted to happily-ever-afters), which sort of made the title rather pointless. They made Amanda Seyfried’s character come off like a super skank, too.

This was probably the most boring movie I’ve seen in months. Sorry, fans. I’ll stick with the book.

I’ve turned into a Gleek.

Glee

People have been talking about this show since last year. I really had no intention of seeing it. Call me lazy. But a friend finally convinced me by burning all the episodes on DVD. Instead of looking for diets that work, I began watching it a few days ago, and finished watching all the episodes in 2 days.

It’s actually a pretty good show. I was afraid it would be too cheesy, but it’s just the right amount of cheese. Some episodes made me somewhat uncomfortable, specifically ‘Ballad’. I had to skip a couple of scenes there because Rachel got too creepy.

I’m looking forward to the next season.

I’m allergic to my cat

That’s right. I just found out today that I’m allergic to my one year old Siamese cat. Now I’m wondering whether I can trade her for an employee screening system. Of course, I really won’t do that but still.

It sucks. I had to find a place in the house where she can stay, vacuum every inch of my bedroom, change all the sheets, curtains, pillowcases, and then stock up on anti-allergies. I really don’t want to get rid of this cat, so I’m trying to find ways to be able to keep her.

Business?

My little brother and I were discussing his options for college a few days ago. It’s still two years away, but a bit of planning won’t hurt.

He’s considering a lot of degrees, a business administration degree being one of them. He’s thinking of taking an online course first, since he likes how the schedules are flexible.

It seems like a good field for him, since he’s really stubborn and always determined to get what he wants, or learn what he wants to learn. And studying with an online instructor would do him a lot of good, since the courses will be personalized for him.

I’m just thinking out loud, though. It’s still his choice. But since he’s asked for my input, I’m still weighing the pros and cons.

On Left 4 Dead 2

I remember hearing about the release and seeing the trailer about a year ago. I was skeptical. I’d grown too fond of the original Left 4 Dead characters (and until now, I still consider it the original Left 4 Dead). But after trying out the demo from Steam, I decided to give it a chance and got the game a couple of weeks ago.

While the new survivors aren’t exactly as charming as the ones in the previous game (I consider Ellis the most interesting character, so far), this is still a pretty decent sequel. The game developers have improved the AI Director, which makes gameplay a little more challenging and unpredictable.

I’ve also grown fond of the newly added melee weapons and the additional guns that have been included. I had gotten really bored with the usual array of weapons in Left 4 Dead (hunting rifle, pump shotgun, auto shotgun, SMG, M-16 rifle, and of course the pistols). I was happy to see military snipers, combat shotguns, AK-47s, and a magnum (there are more, but listing them all would take a lot of space, if you’re curious you can take a look at the full list). No pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney, though.

Initially, I thought I’d be boycotting this game, but the improvements made on the AI Director 2.0 and the new weapons made the game somewhat hard to resist. Also, the announcement regarding The Passing DLC has somewhat appeased me.

New headphones

I got my new headphones today. I’m really happy with them since I’m sure they will make my gaming experience on the PC even better.

I was walking around the mall a couple days ago and I saw that they were selling Guitar Hero 5 for PS3. I’m really curious since I’ve only been able to play Guitar Hero 3. Unfortunately, I don’t have a PS3, so I’ll have to wait until my friends with PS3s actually get the game.

Anyway, speaking of gaming. Take a look at my Left 4 Dead 2 gameplay videos. :)
