Another challenge

Today, I applied for a credit card. I decided to get a reasonably low limit – I won’t mention what I consider low. I just want to learn to be responsible with my finances.

I won’t be buying a water pump with this card. I just plan to use the card to pay for emergency expenses and my yearly hosting payments.

I get my first credit card in 2-3 weeks.

Say what?

Christmas is coming and I have been looking for good Christmas gifts.

Yes, people, Christmas in the Philippines starts in September. The “-ber” suffix pretty much signals the beginning of the holidays here.

I’ve been looking at buying group deals… like red envelope tv codes or cruises or bargain travel coupons from Groupon. Who knows?

I just don’t want to deal with the hassle of thinking of gifts this year.

Not a finance whiz.

Earlier last month, I attended a couple of personal finance seminars which led me to actually learning more about budgeting and whatnot.

I’ve started reading up on personal budgeting, the envelope method, the importance of honest tithes & offerings, and even… rfid credit cards. I don’t know what came over me.

I understand the value of this for people who are insane about credit cards, but I have never been a credit card person. I avoid debts as much as possible. In fact, the only debt I have right now is this cell phone I’m paying off.

Got a new phone

It seems like it was just yesterday that I bought my trusty WhiteBerry. I’ve said goodbye to it and it is now happily in the possession of one of my good friends. I know that he’ll take good care of the WhiteBerry.

Say hello to my new phone…

(Sorry, I was too lazy to horizontally flip the photo)

My new HTC Wildfire S. :D I got it with the help of a very good friend who works for one of the Telcos here in Manila.

It cost almost as much as rv insurance (I think), but it’s a pretty nifty phone. It’s fast, the display is wonderful, it’s just the perfect phone for me… though I do have to get used to the touch keyboard. I don’t like using the vibrate function for tactile feedback since it uses up to much battery life.

I’ll be blogging about my adventures with my HTC soon.

Hungry

It’s almost lunch break. I still have no idea what to have for lunch… Maybe I should just eat ATV Tires? Not appetizing.

Oh well. I guess it’s KFC again for me. I hope they have something interesting in the menu, because I am really tired of eating fried chicken everyday.

I’ve been thinking of taking a photo of my lunch everyday to document how often I eat fried chicken from KFC.

Need. Sleep.

I’m reading up about stuff like reverse osmosis and other things that we could implement in the new house…

But I need sleep. Haha.

Since our helper left, things have been stressful (but happier) in the house. We’ve been pitching in with the chores, and I’ve been coming home early since it makes me feel guilty to have to leave all the cleaning to my parents who also have to work.

Life is happy.

Gah.

Just took my dog to the vet today. He seems to have a minor case of UTI. I’ve bought his medicines, and now I’m looking into payday advance loans.

This week has been a big challenge, and I’m hoping it ends well. I really really hope it ends happily.

Anyway, I’m off now to feed my dog, and get a shower.
