Hello, June.

I took my younger brother shopping for his school uniform today, and we also got him new shoes for school. I can’t believe how much he’s grown this summer. We spent a little over PHP5,000 for all his school stuff, not including his books and supplies. I’ve never known my brother to be so picky. He spent almost two hours choosing the perfect pair of slacks. I swear the sales assistant was getting annoyed, since he kept finding things to complain about. It was almost funny. While he was choosing his stuff, I wandered a bit to look at office furniture. By the time we were done with his shopping, I was just about ready to commit hara kiri with a plastic hanger.

On the way home, I dropped by the pharmacy to buy a box of hair dye from Kolours. My roots were already showing, and I don’t have time to have it done professionally, so this will have to do. I dyed my hair chestnut brown tonight. It came out okay, which is a relief.

I also took him for a haircut, since he hasn’t had one in over two months. My brother is really ticklish, and it’s normal for the customers to receive a backrub after having their hair cut. I couldn’t help but laugh when the barber started giving my brother his backrub, and he started squirming on his seat.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit – and how I haven’t been baptized in the Holy Spirit yet. A fellow Christian friend and I discussed it briefly through Yahoo! Messenger last night. It’s been on my mind for a while now.

Stranded

My friend went with me to a Bible study tonight and we got stranded at the mall. Our fault. We knew it was going to rain hard, but we blatantly ignored the weather and stayed for a couple of hours to window shop and hang out at Fruit Magic.

We decided to go home around 7:00PM, after buying weight loss pills for my mom. It was raining so hard, we decided to get a cab home. We spent about an hour trying to hail a cab – we had lots of competition: other shoppers who also decided to take a cab home because of the frightful weather.

I was drenched when I got home. Fortunately, my nanny prepared a hot bath for me since I decided to text my brother as I was going home.

Shoe shopping

I’ve been wanting to go shoe shopping for a while now. My last shoe purchase was a pair of yellow wedges, and that was a couple of months ago. I really really want a nice pair of pumps or heels now.

I’m a bit of a footwear addict. I think I got that from my mom. My mom and I can spend so many hours just choosing shoes. Back when I was preparing for a good friend’s wedding, I remember that my brother was so frustrated when I spent hours selecting the right pair of shoes for a wedding.

The rainy season is coming soon, so I’m thinking if it would be the perfect opportunity to purchase a pair of boots. I’m also thinking of taking up running or a form of exercise, so I’m wondering if it’s time to get a pair of running shoes as well.

Anyway, I’m going shopping with my mom soon, so I guess I’ll think about the shoes on shopping day itself. :D
